Is the photo above a coxswain joke, or maybe the bow man is planning a quick getaway back on the dock?
Either way, head racing season means a lot of posting up on bridges, so here's your recap of what we saw...and who saw us.
Head Gear of the Week
For when your coxswain doesn't give a cluck.
Sign of the Times Boat Name
Taylor Swift really is everywhere these days, whew!
Bridge-Spotting
Including the full-on wave above, there was a whole lotta camera-spotting on bridges this weekend.
Of course, sometimes, it is the folks on the bridge looking at us:
And this kid definitely spotted her mom mid-race:
Scroll through for some more staredowns into the camera lenses.
Mid-Race Mishaps
This crew had a bit of trouble that you could file under 'whoops, the oar is no longer in the oarlock' which is a big problem in a pair:
And this double became a 'single with' after the bow man snapped one of his rowing sticks:
Alas, Bow 96, We Hardly Knew Ye
Definitely not the way this guy was hoping to go down the race course.
Twin Time Again
That's right, we're back to seeing twins everywhere:
Of course, it certainly helps when they are in doubles for fall racing.
New Drill from MIT: The Bouquet!
How Does It Go Again?
Wait, is it sit on the seat, pull on the oar, or sit on the oar, pull on the seat?
Umm, Summer is Here?
Sure, the regatta was running a bit late - but not this late:
Coxswains Know Better
Meanwhile we spotted a few coxswains breaking out their winter gear already, like hats:
And gloves:
To be fair, these folks were all in bow-loader fours where the coxswain usually gets, well, soaked:
and we did find one guy only half-committed to the idea of needing pogies:
Spotted on the Banks
And, we guess there are times when hacking at it at a regatta is a good thing:
